The Mentalist

Blond-haired, blue-eyed Simon Baker is a police consultant who seems to have psychic powers in this new cop-thriller. Actually, he's a former con man who spun his acute powers of observation into a hit TV series where he helped people "communicate" with the dead. But when he crossed paths with a serial killer and came out the loser, he decided to use his ability for the forces of good. This show isn't played for laughs a la "Psych," but Baker is a charmer - and he's partnered with lush Robin Tunney ("Prison Break"), as a cop who doubts his sincerity. An entertaining pilot could mean a solid series.
