Michael Jackson Dead At 50

Michael Jackson has died after suffering cardiac arrest. He was 50.

After bring raced to UCLA Medical Center on Thursday afternoon, the King of Pop passed away.

Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office told CNN that the singer died at approximately 2:26pm/PT at UCLA Medical Center and that an autopsy would probably be done on Friday, with results expected that afternoon.

Paramedics responded to a 911 call placed from Michael's rented Holmby Hills mansion and found the star in cardiac arrest.

Michael recently canceled several dates from his upcoming comeback tour. The Sun reported that the shows were canceled because he is being treated for skin cancer. Despite being photographed making several visits to a Beverly Hills dermatologist — and making a recent visit to Cedar-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles — the singer's camp denied the story.

He is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Michael's climb to fame began early — he made his professional debut as a member of The Jackson 5 when he was just 11. In 1971 he launched a solo career and has had 13 number one hits. Five of his solo albums — Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995) — have been the world's best-selling records.

He is one of only a few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice — as a solo artist and as part of the Jackson 5.

Michael, who has raised millions of dollars through his charitable foundation, became a controversial figure in the 1990s. In addition to making changes to his appearance — he said he suffered from vitiligo — he was accused of sexual abuse. All along he maintained his innocence and was acquitted of sex abuse charges.

He was briefly married to Lisa Marie Presley and dermatologist nurse Deborah Rowe, with whom he had his two older children. He said his youngest son was the result of artificial insemination from a surrogate mother.

After spending several years living in Bahrain and Ireland, Michael returned to California — though not to his famed Neverland Ranch, which was foreclosed upon in 2008. He lived mostly in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Michael was planning a comeback of blockbusting proportions with 50 shows in London kicking off on July 13 and running through March 2010. According to the singer's Web site, tickets sales for the concerts broke several records.

Michael Jackson was an awesome performer and in his earlier days a hot yound celeb part of the Jackson 5 he rocked his way up the charts and was known as a rock and roll legened! I for one loved all of his songs and his personality that came with purchasing his songs! I now have all of his CD's and love his Thriller music video! "MAY THE KING OF POP REST IN PEACE"

Ehough Already! We as people need to learn how to mind our own business and leave other's alone! Let the man rest in peace! Think about what you are continuing to take his family and children through! For as you judge and criticize it is written in the books for you to answer! He did not have peace here on earth, so please at least let him rest in peace! For your day of judgment will also come! Just accept it the God needed him more than we did and he has the final word!
