Michael Jackson's Mother Makes Bid to Get Kids
Michael Jackson's 79-year-old mother wants to be appointed guardian of his three children.
In a petition filed in Los Angeles on Monday, Katherine Jackson asked the court to be named guardian of Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, 7, known as "Blanket." The petition states that the eldest children have "no relationship with their biological mother," Debbie Rowe, and Blanket's mother, a surrogate who was never revealed publicly, was "unknown."
The Jackson matriarch is also petitioning to take over the children's estate. Until a will is filed — a lawyer for Michael said that it's in the works — that value is also listed as "unknown" in the filing.
A hearing has been set for Aug 3. and for now the kids will remain with Katherine at the Jackson compound in Encino, Calif., where they've been since their father's sudden death on June 25.
Despite Katherine's bid, there are several contenders for guardianship. Because of Katherine's age, an insider says that the childless Janet Jackson, who is the only person Michael truly trusted his kids with, is being eyed as the one to raise the three kids in the long-term. But don't count out Rowe or the children's longtime nanny, Grace Rwaramba, either.

The kids need to stay in the Jackson family, Debbie Rowe don't want to know, or have, the children. The only reason she's coming forward is the money. She has shown that so many times before. Why give the children to someone that sold them so many times.
