Kate Gosselin Says There's No Going Back Now

November 3, 2009

Kate Gosselin is defending herself against critics who say she's exploiting her kids calling her choices selfless, not selfish.
"Coming from a mom who laid on bed rest from the time I found I was pregnant — from seven weeks pregnant to 30 weeks — and would not put anything in my mouth that would harm them, and fought for every second of their existence, I can tell you there is nothing that would ever force me to put them in harm's way," Kate said in her sit-down interview with Natalie Morales that aired on TLC on Monday.

Kate maintains she must continue to live in the public eye because, "At this point, I can't go back," she said. "Let's face it — being a nurse, a single mom of eight kids, I would not be able to provide for them in any way shape or form."

Kate also explained the demise of her 10-year-marriage to estrange husband Jon Gosselin. "I think I was on a plane coming home... and I remember thinking, 'We're not going to recover from this,'" she said. "At the end of the day, I looked at him and he looked at me, and we were completely different people."

Kate admitted she was too critical of Jon during their marriage. "I was very hard on him and I would never deny that," she said. "I was wrong to treat him that way. Was it good, healthy and wonderful? No. Am I proud of those moments that were captured? No."

Still, even after all they've been through, Kate says a part of her will always love Jon. "It's hard to be married to somebody for 10 years and try to say, 'No, I don't love them anymore.' I love the memories we have together, the good times."

She added, "I would love to get to point where he can put his anger aside... The anger in me isn't as raw as it once was. I would love to get to a point that we can converse like two adults. I am sure we will get there."

Talk Back: Did you watch Kate's interview? Was she being sincere or just a drama queen?

Kate's ticket to 'fame-ville' has expired. Just because she's accustomed to living a life of luxury does not mean that she MUST life like that forever!! When times change, you must change according to whats going on. She needs to not use her children and exploit them on tv in order to make a paycheck but get a job like everyone else in this world!

Kate have every right to provide for her eight children. If she was on welfare some of you would say she should not have had them if she can't afford them. How else do you think she could support eight children and spend the time needed to raise them? Those of you speaking against her must be angry you don't have that same luxury.
