Michael Jackson's Dad: The Kids Belong with Us

The day after attending the BET Awards, Michael Jackson's father held a press conference and discussed Michael's will, memorial arrangements and the children, including custody issues involving Debbie Rowe.

Joe Jackson, 79, said Michael's three children are being properly cared for now that their his wife Katherine, also 79, is their temporary legal guardian.

"We're the parents. This is where they belong," the Jackson patriarch said outside the family's Encino, Calif. compound. "We're going to take care of them and give them the education they're supposed to have." He added that the kids are enjoying being around the younger generation of the extended Jackson family, noting: "We have kids back there, small ones like they are. They were never around other kids. They're happy."

When asked about Rowe — the biological mother of Michael's eldest kids, Prince, 12, and Paris, 11 — Joe stated: "Debbie Rowe has nothing to do with what we're doing."

Joe — who was accompanied by Rev. Al Sharpton and took time to mention his plans to start a new record music label — also tackled some rumors. He said they're not rushing plans for a memorial service ("we want to see how…the second autopsy turns out"), noted that his son won't be buried at Neverland ranch ("That's not true"), admitted that it's possible the children's former nanny, Grace Rwaramba, will look after the children ("We're looking at that") and said he hasn't seen a copy of Michael's will.

He also expressed his sadness that his 50-year-old son never saw the public outpouring of love that followed his sudden death. "One thing I wish would have happened with Michael is that he could have been here to see all this," Joe said.

They are only out for MJ's money which he left in the childrens' names. Let the kids be, with their family, the JACKSONS!
-- bubble G.

Joe Jackson does not give a crap about those children. All he wants is money! That is why his name was not even mentioned in the will!!!!!!!!

I dont care eho Debbie Rowe is she was not in their lives and Michael Was it is only right that they stay with their grandmother who they know and love. And a real mother would not give up her rights for any amount of money. we all know Michael would not.
