Kill Bill Star Found Dead in Hotel Room

David Carradine died in Bangkok, where he was shooting a film. He was 72.

The Academy Award-nominated actor, who played Bill in both volumes of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, was discovered by a hotel maid on Thursday morning. Thai police told the BBC it was an apparent suicide — he was found in a closet with a rope around his neck and body.

A local newspaper reported that Carradine could not be contacted after he failed to appear for a meal with the rest of the film crew on Wednesday. The California native was in Thailand filming the movie Stretch.

A rep for the actor called him "full of life, always wanting to work" and said he was "a greatperson."

Carradine's career included more than 100 feature films (he received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for 1976'sBound for Glory) as well as several acclaimed TV roles (TV series Kung Fu and miniseries North and South). In fact he comes from a family of actors, including his father, John Carradine, and brothers Bruce, Keith and Robert. His niece is actress Martha Plimpton.

The actor is survived by his fifth wife, Annie Bierman, whom he married at the home of Michael Madsen in 2004, as well as four children, including one with ex-girlfriend Barbara Hershey.

"full of life, always wanting to work" = this is not the kind of person who commits suicide, he was working on a film. Hopefully there will be a murder investigation
