Christina Applegate Risks All for a Baby

August 14, 2008

Christina Applegate has always dreamed of becoming a mom — and, despite her recent cancer diagnosis, she's refusing to give up.

Days before she was diagnosed with breast cancer last month, Christina told an interviewer of her longing to get pregnant. "I'm at that age where, biologically, it calls me a lot," she said. "I don't want to wait until I'm in my mid-40s."

The actress is so determined to have a baby that she has vowed to put off a punishing course of chemotherapy until after she has succeeded in starting a family, Star reports in our Aug. 25 issue. The Samantha Who? star's plan is to conceive a baby with musician Martyn Lenoble, whom she has dated for several months, says a friend. As soon as possible after the birth, she will start treatment.

"A baby is the most important thing in the world to Christina right now," says the source. "She doesn't want to expose her body to chemo or radiation until after she gives birth."

I'm not a doctor but even I know what she had done was smart, clear thinking. She is one very attractive and seemingly nice lady. But even I know not having breasts has ZERO to do with being able to have a child. P.s. If you need a donor I offer my help (lol) just kidding of course. Good Luck For Real

dude i like you but tha baby can wait wait till you r healthy and strong being pregnent is suppose to be some what enjoyable so when ur so sick and week you have to make a brain and bone wait a while and the baby wil be better too come on have u really thought about the risks

Good thing this is most likely innaccurate because I can't believe anyone in their right mind would do something this foolish or even a doctor would say this is ok.

PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST!!! What good will it be for you or your child if you die from not seeking treatment? Freeze an egg or something and take care of yourself first! Why would you want to do anything but that, and subject your child to other people to take care of them.Take care of yourself first because sometimes, Gods will, not everyone was meant to be a parent. However if you take care of yourself how many people or children can you help?

Cretin! This is for the comment "what if the baby is born with cancer?" Helloooo? Are you seriously THAT stupid?!! I am a cancer survivor and a mother and last I checked, cancer was NOT contagious and cannot be passed from mother to baby in utero or out! If you really must post an opinion on something, at least do yourself a favor and research the topic thoroughly first, so you can make an EDUCATED statement!
